Tiro Seguro
A gun at home stays unloaded, in a safe or locked place. If a child takes it due to lack of care, the penalty is 1 to 2 years.
Owners declare to the Federal Police that the gun is kept unloaded, in a safe or locked place (Decree 11.615, art. 15).
Negligent storage: letting someone under 18 take the gun is a crime, with 1 to 2 years of detention and a fine.
Good practice: ammunition locked elsewhere, code known only to the owner, safe anchored to floor or wall.
