CAC

Apostilamento (amendment) of the CAC CR

Apostilamento records any change in the CR: activity, address, collection address or document. 15 day deadline and R$ 50 fee.

Required documents

  • Valid CAC Certificado de Registro (CR, the registration certificate)
  • Personal identification document with photo and CPF (Brazilian taxpayer number)
  • Change of home address: proof of residence (electricity, water, phone or gas bill)
  • Adding or changing the second collection address: proof of residence for the location, or proof of club membership, if the collection is kept at the club
  • ID document update: the new document with the details to be recorded
  • Adding an activity: the documents required for the new activity (for example, shooting club membership and a commitment to regular practice for sport shooting, or an Ibama document for exceptional hunting)
  • Removing an activity: declaration that no firearm is linked to that activity
  • Proof of fee payment (payment slip generated in the application)

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Identify the type of apostilamento

The official page lists four types: add or remove an activity, change home address, change or add a collection storage address and update an ID document. Changing shooter level and adding a firearm are separate services.

  2. Step 2: Meet the 15 day deadline

Changes to registration details must be recorded within 15 days of the change, or the CR and the linked CRAFs (firearm registration certificates) may be suspended (Decreto 11.615/2023, art. 20).

  3. Step 3: Prepare the proofs

Set aside the document that proves the change, as a legible PDF. If an attachment field does not apply to your case, the official page says to attach a sheet with the words NÃO SE APLICA (not applicable).

  4. Step 4: Apply in Sinarm-CAC

Enter Sinarm-CAC through the official service page on gov.br, with a silver or gold gov.br account (the PF recommends Firefox). Fill in the application, attach the documents and generate the payment slip. After the slip is generated, the details cannot be changed.

  5. Step 5: Pay and track

Pay the fee and track it in the system. The PF office may ask for additional documents; reply within 30 calendar days. Cases not yet available in the system are requested by email, following the guidance on the PF website.

  6. Step 6: Check the updated CR

Once approved, check the CR and the apostila (the CR annex) with the new details and keep a copy. If rejected, you can appeal by email to the PF office, stating your reasons and the application number.

Where to file the request: Apply for CR apostilamento on gov.br (Polícia Federal, Federal Police) (opens in a new tab)

Understand the service

Apostilar means recording in your CAC CR (Certificado de Registro for collectors, sport shooters and hunters) a change in your details, your activities or the storage addresses of your collection. The apostila is the CR annex where this information is kept, with the same validity as the CR. Changes in details must be recorded within 15 days, the fee is R$ 50,00 and the application is made in Sinarm-CAC, the Polícia Federal (Federal Police) system for collectors, shooters and hunters.

What apostilamento is

Under IN DG/PF 311/2025 (art. 27), apostilamento is any change to the registration details: adding, removing, updating or replacing details about the person, the product, the activity or additional information, made at the holder's request.

In practice, the CR must always reflect reality. A mismatch between what is in the CR and what actually exists (address, collection location, activities) is one of the most common problems in inspections and oversight.

Types of apostilamento

The official service page lists four types:

  1. Add or remove an activity (collecting, sport shooting, exceptional hunting).
  2. Change home address.
  3. Change or add a collection storage address (second address, anywhere in the country).
  4. Update personal ID document.

Other changes have their own service:

  • Adding a purchased firearm: firearm registration service with issuance of the CRAF (Certificado de Registro de Arma de Fogo, the firearm registration certificate), fee of R$ 88,00.
  • Changing shooter level: request by email to the PF office, according to the official page, with an apostilamento fee of R$ 50,00 and proof of regular practice for the new level.
  • Displaying a collection firearm at an event: requires apostilamento of the demonstration or exhibition activity and prior PF authorization.

Who needs it

Any CR holder who has changed address or document, or who wants to change what is authorized in the CR. The 15 day deadline applies to changes in registration details (Decreto 11.615/2023, art. 20).

Common mistakes that delay the application

  • Letting the 15 days pass after a change of address.
  • Moving house and transporting the firearms without a guia de tráfego (transport permit).
  • Proof of residence in a third party's name without a document linking you to the property.
  • Asking to add an activity without meeting its requirements (for example, minimum age of 25 for collecting and hunting).
  • Trying to add a firearm through apostilamento, when the right path is the firearm registration service.

After the application

  • Keep a copy of the updated CR and apostila.
  • If you moved the collection to another address, it must meet the security rules of IN 311/2025 (safe or container with a lock, in a masonry room, firearms unloaded).
  • The PF asks every year for confirmation of your registration details in Sinarm-CAC.

What changed recently

  • 1/7/2025: the PF takes over CACs. Portaria DG/PF 19.040/2025 suspended apostilamento deadlines until the services were released, which happened between 16/7 and 18/8/2025, depending on the state.
  • 31/12/2025: the special period to move sport shooting or hunting firearms to the collection ended (Decreto 11.615/2023, art. 79, § 3º).
  • 2026: apostilamento remains in Sinarm-CAC, while other services move to the Portal PF.

Who handles CACs today: Polícia Federal or Exército?

Since 1 July 2025, the Polícia Federal (PF) is the agency that issues the CR, authorizes purchases and transfers, registers collection firearms and issues the transport permit for CACs. The change was set out in Decreto 11.615/2023 and organized by Portaria DG/PF nº 19.040/2025, which released the services in stages between July and August 2025. The detailed rules are in Instrução Normativa DG/PF nº 311/2025, in force since 1 July 2025.

The Exército (Brazilian Army) still has some roles: registering shooting entities, the final review of restricted use firearms (after PF authorization), imports and ammunition reloading. The fees for these services are still those of Lei 10.834/2003 (Taxa de Fiscalização de Produtos Controlados, the controlled products inspection fee).

Which system to use in October 2026

  • Portal PF (portal.pf.gov.br, login with a silver or gold gov.br account): CRAF renewal since 23/07/2026; and, for new applications, CR issuance, CR renewal, purchase authorization and firearm registration with CRAF issuance (official pages updated in October 2026).
  • Sinarm-CAC (servicos.pf.gov.br, the PF system inherited from the former SisGCorp structure): tracking applications started there, apostilamento and transport permits.
  • Email to the PF office for your area: firearm transfer between CACs and change of shooter level, according to the official pages for these services.
  • Exército SisGCorp: stopped accepting CAC applications with the 2025 transition. Documents issued by the Exército before then remain valid until they expire.

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers to the most common questions about this service.

What is apostilamento in the CAC CR?

It is the recording, in the CR, of any change in your details, your activities or your collection. The apostila is the CR annex where this information is kept, and it has the same validity as the CR (IN DG/PF 311/2025, art. 27).

I moved. What is the deadline to tell the PF?

15 days from the move, through apostilamento in Sinarm-CAC (Decreto 11.615/2023, art. 20). Without it, the CR and the linked CRAFs may be suspended. If the move involves taking the firearms, also request the guia de tráfego (transport permit).

Can I keep part of the collection at another address?

Yes. You can register a second collection storage address anywhere in the country (IN DG/PF 311/2025, art. 29). If the collection is kept at the club, the proof is your membership in the entity.

How much does apostilamento cost?

R$ 50,00 for individuals and R$ 250,00 for legal entities, paid by a payment slip generated in the application (Lei 10.834/2003).

How do I add a new firearm to my CR?

After the authorized purchase, you request registration of the firearm with issuance of the CRAF, attaching the purchase authorization and the invoice. If the authorization was issued on the Portal PF, registration is also done there; if it was in Sinarm-CAC, in Sinarm-CAC. The registration fee is R$ 88,00.

Can I move a sport shooting firearm to my collection?

Moving firearms from the shooting or hunting collection to the collecting one had a special period until 31 December 2025 (Decreto 11.615/2023, art. 79, § 3º). Today, any change of collection follows the rules for transfers between collections and the requirements of the new activity.
